The 2009 Finance Challenge, hosted by the Ulster Business School will take place on 6th November 2009 at the Octagon, University of Ulster Coleraine. The event coordinatior, Dr Lisa Bradley, lecturer in finance from the Department of Business, Retail and Financial Services is delighted the event has been sponsored by key players in the local financial services industry, the Ulster Bank and Citi group.
For one day, the University of Ulster’s Octagon will be transformed into a trading floor where students from across the Province will compete to make the maximum return from their investment portfolios.
Each time the market opens, students will have to choose where to invest their initial investment of £100,000 from a selection of FTSE companies. They will have to take into account, risk and return account, market information and of course instinct to end the day on top of their rivals.
Every participant will receive a certificate of participation and Prizes will be awarded to the winning teams by Ulster Bank and Citi group.
The day will include two keynote presentations from the banking industry, including careers opportunities for current A level, Foundation degree and HND students.
On arrival students will go to the Diamond entrance for a welcome reception, after this they will continue onto The Octagon. For a map of directions click on the link at the top of the page or click here
