The Department is based at the University's Coleraine campus, on the North West coast of Northern Ireland, in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

The Department offers a range of courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels combining the core areas of business studies with a number of specialist areas. Which include student enterprise, management, retailing, marketing and accounting. We have a strong international student focus with a large cohort of students from other European countries (ERASMUS programme) and as a result of our links with the University of Kempton in Germany on the MSc in Applied Management.

The Department is strongly engaged with local and international business. Our links with local and international business help to inform our course development. We are involved in a range of industry liaison activities and collaborative activities that help to promote knowledge transfer with the local regional economy. The department has a strong focus on EU transnational research projects with European partners.
The Department has strong research expertise in various areas including retailing, small business and entrepreneurship, internationalization and e-business. Business with Marketing Course now accredited by the CIM

The new academic year 2012- 2013 marks the first year Business with Marketing students will qualify for exemptions for the professional Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) exams. The Multi Award Pathway (MAP) scheme will give students the opportunity to work towards multiple professional qualifications in addition to their degree and students will be given the opportunity to graduate with an introductory certificate in marketing from the CIM which will offset credits earned against CIM qualifications. The ability to have an academic as well as a professional qualification will be a huge differentiating factor for Business with Marketing students in the market place, significantly improving employability after graduation.
