The Business Resilience Programme leading to the award of MSc Executive Leadership

Executive Leadership [MSc] – UCAS Code:  N/A
Year of entry:  2010

The Business Institute, a department within the Ulster Business School, along with partners Emergency Planning Solutions and Goldblatt McGuigan deliver the Resilience Programme. The partnership provides a valuable blend of academic theory and practical expertise.  The Programme has been mapped against the Business Continuity Institute standard.

The Resilience Programme is designed to help senior managers and middle managers in the challenging times of the twenty-first century. The global financial downturn has impacted every organisation and every individual. It is therefore important that new strategies and approaches to problem solving are identified and implemented.

The Programme helps participants on their personal and professional development journey. The rewards for this journey resonate beyond mere excellence in leading people to recognising and managing business continuity. It therefore produces benefits beyond the individual to the organisation.

Participants have the benefit of networking with others from a range of public, private and voluntary organisations. A major influence in shaping views and opinions will come from individual lecturers, guest speakers and above all, the study visit to Boston. Boston College host a one-week study visit where participants have the opportunity to see first-hand how local organisations have managed business continuity.

Miscellaneous:

The Business Institute’s remit is to support the management and business development needs of managers, directors and senior executives in private, public and voluntary sectors.

Faculty staff in the Institute is drawn primarily from industry. This is reflected in the pragmatic action-learning and problem solving approaches that have become a recognised hallmark of teaching within the Institute.
